Session Objective
The purpose of this breakout session is to familiarize the Cabinet members with the activities in the College of Agriculture that align with the goal of "Achieving Sustainable Solutions to the Global Energy and Environmental Challenge," to solicit input from Cabinet members as to how the College of Agriculture may contribute to local or regional solutions to sustainability challenges, and to learn how we might better prepare our graduates to understand these challenges using our "learn by doing" approach to education.

Session Questions

1. Are there programs, grant opportunities, or industry support opportunities that Cabinet members may be aware of that should involve College of Agriculture participation?

2. What specific technologies or knowledge might be most important for our students to help them understand and solve sustainability problems?

3. What are the most important trends on which we should focus?

4. Do you see local, state, or national problems that align with Cal Poly's strengths?

5. What facilities or resources would help our faculty and students contribute more to solving sustainability problems?
